About

Profile overview

I came to IT because I liked taking things apart to see how they worked. That turned into building backends, the parts nobody sees but everybody depends on.

Lately I have been moving toward security: what happens when the systems you build get attacked, and how you design so that matters less. I finished the Netskope architect track this year, and whatever I pick up next probably is not on this page yet.

Project 01

Balipay

Digitises the Filipino paluwagan, a rotating savings group. A framework-free rules engine handles cycle scheduling, payout rotation and the contribution ledger. 142 tests cover the date edge cases and the invariants that matter: every member collects exactly once, net position returns to zero across a round, and a seeded payout draw replays identically. Ships with a no-login demo and a persona switcher.

Project 02

Gazit

Fuel price comparison for Batangas City. Maps every petrol station from OpenStreetMap, takes pump prices from the motorists who paid them, and keeps them current using the nationwide weekly adjustments oil companies publish. Querying OSM ways as well as nodes took Batangas City from 4 stations found to 36. Pre-launch: the mechanism is built and tested, the first price report has not landed.

Event Operations

Operations Lead for the 6th MIMAROPA Regional IT Congress in 2024, presented by JPCS-DWCC and the School of Information and Technology, endorsed by DICT and DOST MIMAROPA, DepEd Oriental Mindoro and Calapan City, and the City Government of Calapan. Operations is the part nobody sees: rooms, schedules, and the twenty things going wrong while the speakers are on stage. Also served as chapter Auditor. [ADD: rough attendance]

02

Community Outreach

Social media awareness and responsible internet use for 50 Mangyan families and 65 students at Sitio Paraiso, Barangay Concepcion, Victoria. Run by the SIT department with JPCS-DWCC and DWCC Community Extension Services, alongside a donation drive. Teaching someone to spot misinformation when they are new to being online is a different problem from teaching it to a classroom. [CONFIRM: your role, and the event date]

Public Communication

Hosted webinars for the JPCS chapter: introduce the speaker, keep the room warm, then coax the first question out of a completely silent chat. Nobody warns you that last part is the actual job. [ADD: how many webinars, rough audience size]

Sports & Games

Basketball, badminton and table tennis whenever there is a court free, plus enough chess to be dangerous for about ten moves. Also turned up for mobile game brackets at intramurals and department games, which is the one thing on this page that is not actually away from the keyboard. [ADD: which title, and any placements]

Pitching

Competed in departmental pitching competitions two years running, presenting capstone and coursework projects to judging panels. Two years of defending your own build in front of a room is the part of engineering nobody teaches. [ADD: which projects, and how you placed]
